The “handy” is a smartphone for travellers that comes pre-loaded with bespoke software specifically designed for tourists visiting Hong Kong. One of my favourite things about staying at the Marco Polo Hong Kong Hotel is the phone they provided.

It’s a great place to grab a snack, catch up on some work or simply unwind. The Canton Lounge is an all-inclusive lounge that offers a daily breakfast buffet, afternoon tea and complimentary evening drinks to guests for an additional charge. Whilst it may sound strange to include a traditionally savoury item in a dessert, the truffles worked perfectly. The standout dish of the day for me was this dessert which featured impossibly rich vanilla bean ice cream with a biscuit crumb and freshly shaved white truffles over the top. From creamy scrambled eggs with freshly shaved truffle, to linguine with Sicilian red prawns, each dish was flawlessly executed. It just so happened to be white truffle season when I visited, which was incorporated into each dish. I can confirm the burger is delicious!ĭuring my stay I also enjoyed lunch at Cucina, Marco Polo’s Italian restaurant. In-room Dining service is available 24 hours a day at Marco Polo, and they have a huge selection of breakfast and a la carte items. And you better believe I consumed this in pyjamas in front of the TV. After a busy day of exploring Hong Kong on foot in the humidity, nothing beats ordering a delicious meal to your room.

One of my guilty pleasures when I stay at a nice hotel is room service. Watching the sun set and the colourful lights come on across the famous Hong Kong skyline each night was truly spectacular. The desk, which I unfortunately had to use quite a bit to catch up on work (and having the stunning view of the Harbour right in front of me did not really help with my concentration levels.) The bathroom area was huge and split over 2 rooms, and came with all the necessary amenities you needed – a bath, hair dryer and good quality toiletries. Nothing beats falling into a comfy king size bed after a 9 hour flight, and I slept like a baby. I really appreciated the complimentary Wifi and Nespresso coffee machine and tea making facilities. The Deluxe Harbour View room is huge by Hong Kong standards, and offers stunning views of Hong Kong Harbour. Service was very warm and welcoming as I checked into the hotel. It’s also right next to The Star Ferry and a 10 min walk from the nearest MTR station, making getting around Hong Kong extremely easy. Tsim Sha Tsui is the heart of Hong Kong’s commercial, shopping and business hub and offers easy access to the area’s major tourist attractions such as Kowloon Park, Hong Kong Space Museum, Hong Kong Museum of Art and the Hong Kong Cultural Centre. The hotel is located on Canton Road, which is home to many high end retail shops, shopping centres and restaurants. In addition to its well-appointed location, the hotel features an outdoor swimming pool and gym, the all-day dining restaurant Cafe Marco (which has an excellent buffet breakfast) and the acclaimed Italian restaurant Cucina. It’s located above Harbour City, Hong Kong’s largest Shopping Centre (hello late night shopping) and overlooks Victoria Harbour and Hong Kong’s Cruise Terminal. I stayed at the Marco Polo Hong Kong Hotel located in Tsim Sha Tsui during my latest trip. Did I mention the food? Hong Kong is truly a food lover’s paradise. Hong Kong is one of my favourite cities in Asia to visit and I’ve been lucky enough to go there 4 times (and counting)! I love the blend of Eastern and Western culture, architecture, shopping and food.
